I’m overjoyed to let you know that I have a new book coming out in March 2023! I haven’t been able to let the cat out of the bag before now, but received the go-ahead from my publisher this week.
I must admit, I can’t believe it’s happened. My first two books, both award winners, came out in 2000 and 2002. They were eventually combined into one volume, Collected Recipes. Sadly, this went out of print in 2017 and despite the constant demand for it, I haven’t been able to do anything about it…until now that is, in my new book, In Belinda’s Kitchen – Essential Recipes.
I’ve had such fun picking the eyes out of those two books, and adding some additional new recipes as well. The recipes in it are those of my history – they originated with family, friends and the talented colleagues I’ve had the privilege to work with over my many years in the hospitality industry. For me they tell a story of family and friendship and they hold a special place in my heart. They were the sum total of everything I’d learnt to that point about food and cooking. I poured my heart and soul into honing them and cut my cookbook-writing teeth on them.
Of course, over time, as my cooking has evolved, so too have these recipes. I might add more spice here, less sugar there, use a slightly lighter hand, or an ingredient that just wasn’t widely available back then. It’s been really wonderful for me to re-visit them, and has made me realise that delicious food and recipes never grow old. They might need a polish now and again, but the bones are always good.
These are the recipes I make time and again, and it gives me so much joy to see them ready to come back out into the world. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek.
